About

The Southwest Ohio Youth Wind Symphony was created for high school instrumentalists who wish to perform in an ensemble beyond the normal school day. The membership is chosen through a process involving auditions and director recommendations and is composed of wind and percussion performers from the public, private, parochial and home schools in the Southwest Ohio area. All members must be actively involved in their school music program and must be recommended by their music teacher.

American Youth Ensembles was founded for the purpose of providing extraordinary musical experiences for the students, as stated in our motto: "Opening New Musical Landscapes." It is in this spirit that we have arranged for the Southwest Ohio Youth Wind Symphony to travel to New York City and perform in the world-renowned Carnegie Hall in June.
